This Issue 6.1, as a continuation of Issue 6.0, forms part of a common, interoperable, international ASD Suite of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Specifications which is prepared in concert by ASD and AIA. Compared to previous issues of S2000M (i.e. Issue 5.0 and earlier) it contains a number of changes, such as:
- A simplification of the Initial Provisioning process using a common ILS Data Model for the ASD Suite of ILS Specifications.
- A simplification of the Pricing, Order Administration and Invoicing into one Material Supply Process.
- A reduction of the different types of transactions and their content.
- A change of the message structure to XML (eXtensible Markup Language), whereby Chapter 1 uses UML (Unified Modelling Language) in conjunction with XSD (XML Schema Definition) and Chapters 2 and 3 use the XSD (XML Schema Definition) only.
